The ACCUPRO 12183089 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1/8 inch corner radius, and a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers wear resistance and edge retention across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide construction supports higher feed rates and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working on vertical machining centers, manual mills, and similar equipment.
This tool is suited for contour milling, profiling, and finishing passes where a blended corner radius is required to reduce stress concentrations at part features. The 2 inch length of cut and 4 inch overall length make it appropriate for medium-depth pocketing and side-wall work in both production and job-shop settings. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1/2 inch collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, and shrink-fit holders used on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before inserting or removing the tool. Clean the toolholder bore and shank before seating to avoid runout induced by debris. Verify runout at the cutting edge after clamping, as shank diameter tolerance runs from -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches and toolholder fit directly affects surface finish and tool life.
