The ACCUPRO 12183069 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 3/8-inch diameter, a 1-1/8-inch length of cut, and a 0.015-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in profiling and finishing passes. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and hardness at elevated cutting temperatures, making this tool well-suited for ferrous alloys, hardened steels, and high-temp materials. With 4 flutes and a right-hand spiral, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a quality surface finish. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments rely on tools like this for tight-tolerance work.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a long-flute, single-end corner radius tool is required. The 3-inch overall length and 3/8-inch shank diameter suit standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly found in vertical machining centers. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling operations. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces chatter during finishing cuts on contoured surfaces and pockets.
Designed as a standard solid carbide corner radius end mill with a 3/8-inch shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock toolholders accepting 3/8-inch shank tooling on CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge depth in the holder and torque the collet nut or set screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
