The ACCUPRO 12183057 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, this end mill delivers hard, wear-resistant cutting edges suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes at higher feed rates. At 0.375 inches in diameter with a 1.125-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length, this is a long-series geometry, giving machinists added reach for deeper pockets and stepped features. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom operations requiring a reliable general-purpose end mill in a long-reach configuration. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, contouring, and pocket milling in steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable alloys. The 0.375-inch shank diameter matches standard ER collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and Weldon-style side-lock holders common in production and job-shop setups. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle rotation on most vertical machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, and side-lock end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling applications.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in a safe, locked-out state per shop safety protocols. Seat the shank fully into the holder to the correct gauge-line depth before torquing the retention mechanism to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the collet or chuck bore for runout with a dial indicator before committing to a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Speeds and feeds should be calculated based on the workpiece material, machine rigidity, and depth of cut rather than assumed from general tables.
