The ACCUPRO 12183051 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 3/8 inch mill diameter and a 0.015 inch corner radius, this tool reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. It features 4 flutes in a right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle, producing efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating is unnecessary or where tool regrinding is anticipated. A licensed machinist or tooling technician would typically deploy this in a CNC machining center or manual vertical mill.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and contouring operations where a small corner radius is required to match part geometry or reduce corner chipping. The 1-1/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length place it in the long-reach category, making it useful for deeper pockets and stepped features. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The single-end configuration delivers maximum rigidity through the 3/8 inch shank diameter. Typical applications include mold and die work, aerospace components, and general precision machining in job shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank end mill with ER or side-lock toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Confirm the shank is seated to the correct gauge length and the collet or sidelok holder is torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify spindle direction is set to right-hand rotation before engaging the cut.
