The ACCUPRO 12183042 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.015 inch corner radius on a 5/16 inch diameter cutting head with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life in high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting environments. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool produces efficient chip evacuation and a consistent finish. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into material. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals rely on this geometry for profiling, slotting, and contouring applications where edge integrity matters.
This end mill suits CNC machining centers and manual mills operating on hardened steels, alloy steels, stainless, titanium, and cast iron. The long-length configuration, with a 3 inch overall length and 5/16 inch shank, accommodates setups requiring additional reach into deep pockets or tall workpieces. The micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN finish make it a practical choice in production environments where tooling consistency and repeat performance are priorities. It is sold individually and well suited for job shops, mold and die work, and general precision component machining.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for standard 5/16 inch shank end mill applications on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 5/16 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the specified minimum engagement depth in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder to maintain runout tolerances. Verify corner radius tolerance and diameter tolerance specifications against your part print requirements before use.
