The ACCUPRO 12183036 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/16 inch (0.3125 inch) mill diameter with a 0.045 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life and improving surface finish on profiled cuts. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC operators working with milling machines and machining centers.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress risers or match part geometry. The long-length configuration with a 1-1/8 inch length of cut and 3 inch overall length makes it appropriate for deeper cavity work and extended reach applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the rigidity needed for high-speed machining in hardened or abrasive materials. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 5/16 inch collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the 5/16 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to avoid premature tool wear or workpiece damage.
