The ACCUPRO 12183030 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from micrograin carbide stock and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and improved surface finish compared to uncoated tooling. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting at elevated feed rates. At 0.3125 inches in diameter with a 1.125-inch length of cut and 3.0-inch overall length, this is a long-reach configuration suitable for deeper pocket and slot milling work. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, production facilities, and maintenance departments. The long length of cut relative to diameter makes it well-suited for deep slot milling, stepped pocket work, and applications requiring reach past a shoulder or fixture. The TiCN finish adds hardness and lubricity, making it a solid choice when cutting alloy steels, stainless, cast iron, and hardened materials at moderate to high surface speeds. It is typically run by CNC machinists and toolroom operators.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-production square end mill compatible with any CNC machining center or manual mill spindle accepting a 5/16-inch straight shank tool holder, collet, or end mill adapter.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom operators. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before installing or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the minimum recommended grip depth before torquing the drawbar or collet nut. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, especially given the long reach-to-diameter ratio of this tool.
