The ACCUPRO 12183021 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a 0.3125-inch cutting diameter, a 1.125-inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers clean, aggressive stock removal in a long-length configuration. The four-flute spiral geometry generates an efficient chip load while the right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation suit standard vertical and horizontal milling machine setups. Micrograin carbide substrate provides the edge retention needed for demanding production environments. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into a workface without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and multi-axis setups where a general-purpose square-profile end mill is required. The long-length body is appropriate for jobs requiring deeper reach into a pocket or slot where a standard-length tool would contact the workpiece shoulder. Machinists, toolroom operators, and production CNC programmers working in job shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments are the primary users. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and materials where a coated tool could present adhesion or regrind concerns.
Designed as a general-purpose solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard 5/16-inch collets, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before tool changes. Verify the holder bore and collet are clean and free of chips or runout before seating the shank. Confirm the shank diameter tolerance range of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches is compatible with your holder specification before mounting. Recommended speeds and feeds should be calculated based on workpiece material, depth of cut, and machine rigidity.
