The ACCUPRO 12183009 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 1/4 inch diameter with a 0.03 inch corner radius and a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for contouring, profiling, and finishing passes where a sharp corner blend is required. The 4-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN coating provides enhanced wear resistance and lubricity, extending tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The micrograin carbide substrate contributes to edge stability under demanding feed and speed conditions. This tool is a single-end, center-cutting design with right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, and is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in production and job shop environments.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in both production and prototype settings. It is commonly applied in mold and die work, aerospace component machining, and general precision metalworking where corner radius blending is required to reduce stress concentrations and meet tight dimensional tolerances. The long-length configuration with a 3 inch overall length provides additional reach for deeper pockets and stepped features.
Designed as a standard 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting 1/4 inch shank tooling on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle is powered down before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before commencing cutting operations. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for the collet nut or toolholder being used.
