The ACCUPRO 12182992 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and hardened materials. It features a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip and extends part life in profiling and slotting applications. The AlTiN coating provides high-temperature oxidation resistance, making this tool well-suited for dry or near-dry cutting in difficult-to-machine alloys. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a micrograin carbide substrate, the 12182992 delivers both rigidity and edge retention in demanding production environments. Machinists and tooling specialists use this end mill in CNC machining centers.
This end mill is built for aggressive roughing and finishing passes in steel, stainless, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. The long-length configuration with a 5 inch overall length and 1 inch shank diameter suits deeper-reach operations where standard-length tools cannot access the workpiece. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and full-slot cutting. Right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. The corner radius geometry is particularly effective in die and mold work, aerospace structural components, and any application where sharp internal corners are not permitted by print.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers accepting a 1 inch straight shank end mill. Compatible with ER40, hydraulic, shrink-fit, and side-lock toolholders sized for a 1 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in E-stop or tool-change mode before loading or removing the end mill. Confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before committing to a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces corner radius accuracy. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications when securing set screws or collet nuts.
