The ACCUPRO 12182987 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding shop environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles hardened steels, stainless alloys, and abrasive materials at elevated cutting temperatures. The 1-inch diameter cutter features a 1/8-inch (0.1250 inch) corner radius that extends tool life and reduces edge chipping on workpiece corners. With 4 right-hand spiral flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, so it can plunge directly into material. Machinists and toolroom operators in metalworking, aerospace, and precision manufacturing shops are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for peripheral and slot milling operations in vertical and horizontal machining centers. The long flute length of 2-1/4 inches and 5-inch overall length give it reach for deeper cavities and pockets where standard-length tools fall short. The 1-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders or collet chucks sized for 1-inch shanks. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC milling operations. The AlTiN coating makes it especially effective in dry or minimal-lubrication cutting conditions common in high-speed machining cells.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with 1-inch collet chucks or toolholders. Suitable for milling hardened steels, stainless steels, cast iron, and other abrasive ferrous materials where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the shank to the full recommended grip depth in the toolholder to minimize runout and prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify toolholder bore tolerances are compatible with the shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inch before assembly.
