The ACCUPRO 12182979 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. It features a 1 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius and a 2.25 inch length of cut, making it well suited for profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling operations where edge protection and extended tool life are priorities. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, supporting higher cutting speeds and improved wear resistance. Weighing 1.89 pounds, this is a single-end, centercutting tool with a right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting action.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills across job shops, tool and die operations, aerospace component manufacturing, and general metalworking applications. The long-reach geometry, 5 inch overall length with a 1 inch shank diameter, allows access to deeper pockets and cavities where standard-length tools cannot reach. The 4-flute, spiral flute design provides a good balance of chip evacuation and surface finish quality. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where TiCN coatings provide a performance advantage.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill compatible with standard 1 inch tool holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit holders used on CNC machining centers and milling machines.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the shank is clean and seated fully in the tool holder before torquing to the holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout after installation using a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines when selecting speeds and feeds for this tool geometry and coating.
