The ACCUPRO 12182957 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it carries an AlTiN finish that extends tool life in dry and semi-dry cutting conditions by resisting heat and oxidation at elevated temperatures. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 9/16 inch in diameter with a stub-length overall length of 3 inches and a 7/8-inch length of cut, this end mill is suited for rigid setups where deflection control is a priority. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users.
This end mill is applicable to face milling, slotting, peripheral milling, and plunge operations in ferrous alloys, stainless steel, hardened steels, and similar materials. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without pre-drilling. The stub-length profile keeps the tool short and stiff, making it a practical choice for high-material-removal-rate operations on CNC machining centers and knee mills where spindle rigidity is available. It is appropriate for production and job-shop environments alike.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 9/16 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the shank fully within the holder to the recommended gauge line and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Consult the machine manufacturer and applicable OSHA standards for proper clamping torque and RPM parameters based on material and operation type.
