The ACCUPRO 12182953 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hardened materials. The 4-flute, single-end geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 0.5 inches in diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius, this tool reduces stress concentrations at inside corners, extending tool life and part quality. The AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for high-speed and dry cutting applications. It weighs 0.25 pounds and has an overall length of 2.5 inches.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for slotting, profiling, and finishing cuts where a radiused corner is required. The stub length classification and 0.625-inch length of cut (0.812 inches measured as decimal) make it appropriate for applications requiring rigidity and reduced deflection. Machinists working with alloy steels, stainless, and titanium alloys will find the AlTiN coating and micrograin carbide substrate appropriate for their material requirements. Right-hand cutting direction with right-hand flute spiral is standard for conventional and climb milling setups.
Designed as a standard 1/2-inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling that accept 1/2-inch straight shanks.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for toolholder torque and runout verification. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the holder to the correct insertion depth before securing. Inspect collet or holder bore for wear or contamination before each use, as excessive runout will accelerate tool wear and degrade surface finish. Always confirm spindle direction and cutting parameters match the right-hand cutting specification of this tool before operation.
