The ACCUPRO 12182943 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled edge radius and consistent finish. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.045 inch corner radius reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the cutting path. At 1/2 inch diameter with a 40-degree helix angle and 4 flutes, this tool balances chip evacuation and surface finish in demanding CNC milling environments. It is a single-end, centercutting design, allowing plunge entry as well as lateral cutting passes.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers running ferrous alloys, stainless steels, and hardened materials where the TiCN coating provides added thermal and abrasion resistance. With a 5/8 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length on a 1/2 inch shank, it fits standard ER or side-lock toolholders common in job shop and production environments. The stub-length profile increases rigidity and reduces deflection in tight-tolerance applications. Machinists, tool and die shops, and precision part manufacturers are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 1/2 inch toolholders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before mounting or removing the tool. Use a calibrated torque wrench with the appropriate collet or end mill holder to secure the 1/2 inch shank; follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius for chips or wear before each setup, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts.
