The ACCUPRO 12182936 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.09 inch corner radius, this tool produces smooth, radiused edges while maintaining tight dimensional tolerances. The four-flute, right-hand spiral design delivers efficient chip evacuation and a clean surface finish. Micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cutting conditions. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into material as well as cut along the periphery.
This end mill is suited for stub-length milling operations in job shops, toolrooms, and production machining environments. The bright/uncoated finish makes it appropriate for use in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials where coating interaction is a concern or where re-sharpening is anticipated. It is a right-hand cutting, right-hand flute tool with no extended reach, keeping deflection minimal in close-tolerance work. Machinists and CNC operators handling die and mold work, contour milling, or edge-breaking operations will find the corner radius geometry practical for reducing stress concentrations at part corners.
Designed as a standard 1/2 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines equipped with an ER or straight-shank collet system accepting a 1/2 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and locked out before tooling changes. The shank diameter tolerance runs from -0.0001 to -0.0004 inch, so verify collet condition and cleanliness before seating the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping, and reference the machine tool manufacturer's guidelines for maximum RPM and feed rate recommendations based on material and depth of cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut depth.
