The ACCUPRO 12182916 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 29/64 inch (0.4531 inch) cutting diameter and 4 spiral flutes ground to a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub-length configuration keeps deflection low, making it well-suited for rigid setups and tighter tolerances. The bright, uncoated finish on micrograin carbide substrate provides a sharp, consistent edge right out of the packaging. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers in job shop and production environments.
This end mill fits standard milling machine spindles and CNC machining centers using a 1/2 inch shank. The stub length overall measurement of 2-1/2 inches and a 5/8 inch length of cut make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate pocket milling, slotting, profiling, and contouring operations. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry follow the most common spindle rotation standard, making this a straightforward drop-in for most setups without special toolholder adapters.
Designed for use in standard 1/2 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, de-energized state before changing tooling. Seat the 1/2 inch shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tolerances are critical.
