The ACCUPRO 12182903 is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 25/64 inch (0.3906 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/8 inch length of cut, and a 7/16 inch shank diameter, with a 2 inch overall length placing it in the stub-length category. The AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and high-hardness materials. A 40-degree helix angle and right-hand spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
This end mill suits general-purpose and finish milling applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar hard materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry into the workpiece, enabling slot milling, pocket milling, and profiling operations without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent edge retention across high-cycle production runs. The stub overall length adds rigidity, making it well suited for applications where tool deflection must be minimized, such as die work or tight-clearance setups.
Designed as a standard square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills equipped with a 7/16 inch collet or end mill holder. Suitable for ferrous and hard material milling applications requiring a stub-length, 4-flute, right-hand cut tool.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolroom practices. The shank must be seated fully and securely in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder before spindle operation. Confirm shank diameter tolerance compatibility with the holder before mounting. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling, and verify runout with a dial indicator after seating for precision work.
