The ACCUPRO 12182861 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, alloy, and composite workpiece materials. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it delivers the edge retention and rigidity required for demanding cutting conditions. The 21/64 inch (0.3281 inch) cutting diameter pairs with a 4-flute, 40-degree helix spiral configuration to promote smooth chip evacuation and stable cuts. An AlTiN coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and dry cutting applications. This is a stub-length, centercutting end mill, meaning it can plunge directly into material without a pre-drilled entry point. Machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC setup technicians use this tool in vertical and horizontal milling setups.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and plunging operations across general-purpose and precision machining environments, including job shops, maintenance facilities, and production floors. Its 5/8 inch length of cut and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it appropriate for short-reach applications where rigidity and runout control are priorities. The stub-length design reduces deflection during aggressive lateral cuts. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional spindle configurations.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and machine is in a safe state before inserting or removing the tool from the collet or chuck. Verify runout at the cutting diameter after tool installation and before engaging the workpiece. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut or axial engagement for the tool diameter, and consult the appropriate feeds-and-speeds reference for the specific workpiece material and machine capability.
