The ACCUPRO 12182835 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) mill diameter and a 0.045-inch corner radius that produces a controlled radius blend at the bottom edge of a cut, reducing stress concentration and improving surface finish. With a 40-degree helix angle and four right-hand spiral flutes, the tool generates efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can plunge directly into material as well as perform peripheral and slot milling. The stub-length flute profile at 0.625 inches length of cut paired with a 2-inch overall length provides rigidity for tight-tolerance work. Micrograin carbide grade supports hardness and wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual or automated milling setups where a corner radius profile is specified. Typical applications include finishing passes on mold and die work, contour milling, and pocket milling where sharp internal corners are not acceptable. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous materials and applications where coating interaction with the workpiece must be avoided. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, production facilities, and tool rooms are the primary installers and users of this tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 5/16-inch collet or end mill holder tooling setups on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Secure the shank fully within a matching 5/16-inch collet or end mill holder and torque the retention system per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify spindle runout before engaging the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and degrade corner radius accuracy. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling.
