The ACCUPRO 12182816 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers high hardness and heat resistance suited for cutting ferrous metals, stainless steels, and hardened alloys. The tool features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.09 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in high-feed operations. With four right-hand spiral flutes and a centercutting design, it handles both plunge and peripheral cutting. Installation and operation are handled by machinists and CNC tool setters in job shop and production environments.
This end mill is a stub-length, single-end tool with a 1/4 inch shank diameter and a 2 inch overall length, making it a compact, rigid choice for shallow-to-moderate depth milling. It suits applications including profile milling, slotting, and contouring where a corner radius is required to blend surfaces or reduce edge chipping. The right-hand cutting direction and fixed helix geometry at 40 degrees support chip evacuation in both dry and flood-coolant setups. No variable index geometry is present, keeping the tool straightforward for standard CNC mill programs.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill suitable for standard 1/4 inch collet or end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the 1/4 inch shank in a matched collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout after seating before initiating a cut. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edges during setup and storage.
