The ACCUPRO 12182807 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life. The TiCN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance, making it well suited for high-speed applications. With 4 flutes and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool delivers efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring close-tolerance corner profiles.
This end mill is built for stub-length applications where rigidity is critical and deflection must be minimized. The 1/4 inch shank diameter matches standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders common in both production and job-shop environments. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, giving the operator flexibility in ramping and pocket-milling routines. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction follow standard convention for most vertical machining center setups. This tool is appropriate for finish and semi-finish passes on hardened steels, stainless, and alloy materials where a precise corner radius is required by part print.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for 1/4 inch shank corner radius end mills used in standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or holder to the minimum recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and compromises corner radius tolerance.
