The ACCUPRO 12182803 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling applications in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch mill diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that protects workpiece edges and extends tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, making this tool well suited for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool made from micrograin solid carbide, suitable for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills by skilled machinists and toolroom operators.
This end mill is intended for stub-length milling operations where rigidity is critical and deflection must be minimized. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. Its 4-flute geometry balances chip clearance with cutting surface contact, making it appropriate for finish passes and light profiling on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The 0.015 inch corner radius is particularly useful when machining pockets and slots that require radiused corners per engineering drawings.
Designed as a standard shank corner radius end mill compatible with 1/4 inch collets and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/4 inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
