The ACCUPRO 12182774 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 2 inch overall length. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and hardened materials at elevated speeds. Four right-hand spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and a smooth surface finish. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling in addition to standard peripheral cuts. This is a single-end, stub-length tool intended for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills operated by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is suited for finish and semi-finish milling of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous alloys where corner radius geometry is required to reduce stress concentrations at the base of a pocket or slot. The stub length format provides added rigidity in tight setups or shallow-depth operations. It accepts standard 3/16 inch collets or toolholders and is appropriate for high-speed machining applications where coating performance and dimensional accuracy are priorities. Machinists working in precision job shops, aerospace component work, and die-mold applications will find this geometry particularly useful for blending radii into floor-to-wall transitions.
Designed as a standard 3/16 inch shank corner radius end mill compatible with any toolholder, collet chuck, or end mill holder accepting a 3/16 inch straight shank.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state per applicable shop safety protocols. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or toolholder to minimize runout and prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify collet condition and toolholder runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates coating wear and can cause premature tool failure. This tool should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate for the workpiece material.
