The ACCUPRO 12182771 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and hard materials. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles high-heat cutting environments where tool life and dimensional accuracy matter. The 3/16 inch diameter, 4-flute configuration with a 40-degree helix angle provides efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. With a 0.02 inch corner radius, it produces a controlled edge break on workpiece corners, reducing stress concentration at milled features. This is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for plunge entry and full-profile slot milling in CNC machining operations.
This end mill is used in precision machining applications including die and mold work, aerospace component milling, and general CNC work involving hardened or abrasive materials. The stub length configuration — 3/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length — provides rigidity for tight-tolerance work where deflection control is critical. Machinists and CNC operators working with stainless steel, titanium, hardened steels, and similar alloys are the primary users of AlTiN-coated carbide tooling in this class.
Designed as a standard shank corner radius end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills with ER or end mill collet systems accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/16 inch shank to ensure runout is within acceptable limits. Avoid overtightening collet nuts beyond tool holder manufacturer specifications, as this can damage the shank. Confirm feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut settings in the CAM program or G-code before beginning a cut in new material.
