The ACCUPRO 12182768 is a 4-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.1875-inch mill diameter, a 3/8-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length in a stub-length configuration. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in high-speed applications. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the centercutting geometry allows plunge milling as well as conventional peripheral cuts. This tool is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production environments, and tool-and-die applications.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and light ramping operations on milling machines and machining centers. The stub-length design provides added rigidity, making it effective in applications where deflection must be minimized, such as when machining hardened steels or producing tight-tolerance features. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC and manual vertical mill setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage and improved edge retention compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an estop or locked-out state per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Ensure the collet or toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping. Do not exceed the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping torque for this shank diameter. Confirm cutting parameters against the workpiece material and machine horsepower before initiating a cut.
