The ACCUPRO 12182754 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metal, composites, and engineering plastics. Built from micrograin carbide, it offers the rigidity and edge retention needed for aggressive cuts in tough materials. The 4-flute, spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 3/16 inches in diameter with a 3/8-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length, this is a stub-length tool suited for short-reach applications where rigidity is the priority. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry. Installed by machinists and toolroom technicians on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
This end mill fits applications requiring tight-tolerance slots, pockets, and profiles in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub-length geometry minimizes deflection in precision slotting and contouring operations. The right-hand cut, right-hand flute orientation is standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for use with cutting fluid in aluminum and softer alloys, as well as in light steel applications where regrinding is part of the tooling workflow.
Designed as a standard shank square end mill for use in collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a locked or e-stop state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Never exceed the rated depth of cut for the tool diameter, and confirm feed and speed parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating the cut.
