The ACCUPRO 12182631 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 5/8 inch diameter with a 0.015 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge, extending tool life in demanding applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration paired with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN coating adds wear resistance and reduces friction at the cutting zone. This tool is a single-end, centercutting design, meaning it can be plunged directly into the workpiece. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators install and run this tool in vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This end mill is suited for profiling, slotting, and finish milling operations where a small corner radius is required to maintain part geometry while reducing edge chipping. The 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for moderate-depth cavity work and side-wall milling in mold and die, aerospace, and general precision machining environments. The 5/8 inch shank diameter provides positive clamping in standard ER and side-lock toolholders. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC milling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide corner radius end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter toolholder.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the close shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches.
