The ACCUPRO 12182611 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.06 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the tool tip and extends workpiece edge life. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral design with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating provides high heat resistance and hardness, making this end mill well suited for dry or high-speed machining of hardened steels, stainless steels, and cast iron. Machining professionals in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments select this tool for demanding cutting operations.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers as well as manual mills where a center-cutting, single-end corner radius tool is required. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge milling and ramp entry, expanding versatility in slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. With a 3 inch overall length and a 1/2 inch shank diameter, it fits standard ER and end mill holders common on 3-axis and 4-axis machining platforms in both production and prototype environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tool for standard 1/2 inch end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and Weldon shank holders used in CNC and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the recommended engagement depth and torque the set screw or collet nut to the holder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator after tool installation.
