The ACCUPRO 12182599 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal-cutting environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride), it delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.020 inch corner radius reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge and produces a controlled radius blend at the bottom of milled features. With a 0.5 inch mill diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 40-degree helix angle, this tool is suited for aggressive material removal while maintaining finish quality. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shop, production, and maintenance environments install and run this tool.
This end mill is used in milling operations where a blend radius at the floor of a pocket, slot, or profile is required. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry, enabling both ramping and direct plunge toolpaths. The right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual knee mills running conventional or climb milling strategies. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace components, and general precision machining of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hardened materials where TiCN coating provides the necessary thermal and abrasion resistance.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill for use in standard 0.5 inch ER or end mill collet holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using an appropriate collet or end mill holder rated for 0.5 inch shank diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked before tool changes. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the shank to confirm concentricity within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and consult the coating manufacturer guidelines for cutting fluid compatibility with TiCN-coated tooling.
