The ACCUPRO 12182595 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. It features a 4-flute, spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle, providing efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. At 0.5000 inches in diameter with a 1-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length, it is sized for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installed by machinists in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for both conventional and climb milling setups in machine shops, tool rooms, and production environments. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry into the workpiece without pre-drilling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. The regular-length body and 0.5-inch shank fit ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems commonly used in vertical machining centers and bridgeport-style mills. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, step milling, and pocket milling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials.
Designed as a general-purpose square end mill compatible with any 1/2-inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit toolholding system. Shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches ensures consistent seating in precision toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 0.5-inch shank before tightening. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's recommended torque procedure for collet nuts or set screws to prevent slippage or runout.
