The ACCUPRO 12182590 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 1/2 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 0.02 inch corner radius that reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and extends tool life in demanding applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. This is a single-end, centercutting tool, meaning it can plunge directly into the workpiece. It is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool-and-die professionals working in job shops, aerospace, mold and die, and general precision machining environments.
This end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where edge blending, corner relief, or radial floor transitions are required. The bright uncoated finish makes it a practical choice for aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous materials where coating adhesion is not required. The micrograin carbide substrate provides hardness and wear resistance appropriate for high-speed CNC milling centers and manual knee mills running rigid setups. The 3 inch overall length and 1/2 inch shank diameter suit standard ER and straight-bore toolholders found in most machining operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for solid carbide corner radius end mills with a 1/2 inch shank diameter and 1/2 inch mill diameter, fitting standard ER collet chucks, hydraulic holders, and straight-bore toolholders commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer torque and runout specifications. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before mounting or removing the end mill. Verify tool runout with a dial indicator after seating in the holder, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and reduce corner radius accuracy. Follow your machine tool manufacturer guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth of cut based on workpiece material.
