The ACCUPRO 12182585 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It carries a 31/64 inch (0.4844 inch) cutting diameter with a 1 inch length of cut and a 1/2 inch shank diameter. The 3 inch overall length puts it in the regular-length category, balancing reach and rigidity. An AlTiN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. The 40-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a wide range of workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this end mill for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations on machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill fits standard milling applications in job shop, production, and toolroom environments. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, making it suitable for ramping, helical interpolation, and conventional slotting without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is compatible with standard spindle rotation on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers. The 1/2 inch shank seats in common ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and Weldon-style holders. Micrograin carbide substrate supports higher surface footage than standard carbide grades, particularly in hardened steels and stainless alloys.
Designed as a standard OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in 1/2 inch bore end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and Weldon shank holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup personnel. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the end mill from its holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the holder is torqued to the tool manufacturer specifications for the holder type in use. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or wear before each setup; a damaged AlTiN coating can accelerate tool failure and produce out-of-tolerance surfaces.
