The ACCUPRO 12182540 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch mill diameter, a 7/8 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch corner radius that helps reduce stress concentration at the cutting edge and extend tool life in demanding applications. The TiCN coating provides increased surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide. This single-end, centercutting tool is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC mills or manual knee mills where tight tolerances are required.
This end mill is used in ferrous and non-ferrous machining applications including slotting, profiling, and contouring where a radiused corner is specified. The 4-flute configuration is well suited for finishing passes and moderate material removal rates in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting geometry are standard for conventional CNC machining centers. The 2-1/2 inch overall length and 3/8 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard ER or straight-bore toolholders commonly found in production and job shop environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Compatible with ER collet chucks, straight-bore end mill holders, and hydraulic toolholders sized for 3/8 inch shank diameters.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool changer or spindle is in a safe, locked state before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank to the minimum insertion depth recommended for the toolholder type in use, and verify runout with a dial indicator before production runs. Consult the toolholder manufacturer specifications for proper torque values on retention knobs or collet nuts.
