The ACCUPRO 12182536 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It carries a 3/8-inch diameter with a 0.06-inch corner radius, producing a consistent blend between the floor and wall of a milled pocket or profile. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces at the tool tip. With four flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry. Machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool in vertical machining centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill is appropriate for shop environments requiring tight-tolerance corner radii on machined components. The micrograin carbide substrate supports use in harder workpiece materials where high-speed steel tooling loses edge life prematurely. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice when coolant-based lubrication is used and coating interaction with the workpiece material is a concern. It is a single-end tool, meaning the cutting geometry is on one end only. Typical applications include pocket milling, contouring, and profile work on parts requiring a precise blend radius.
Designed as a standard shank end mill compatible with 3/8-inch collets, end mill holders, and milling chucks used in CNC vertical machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and locked out before loading or changing the tool. Seat the 3/8-inch shank fully in the holder and torque the collet nut or set screws according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout will accelerate corner radius wear and degrade surface finish.
