The ACCUPRO 12182512 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and hard materials. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius, four flutes, and a 40-degree helix angle. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers rigidity and wear resistance in demanding cuts. This tool is used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills where edge blending, profiling, and finishing passes require a radiused corner geometry.
This end mill suits applications in job shops, production machining, and precision toolrooms. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, enabling ramping and helical interpolation without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. A 3/4 inch length of cut supports shallow-to-medium-depth slotting and profiling in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar alloys where AlTiN coatings perform best. The 5/16 inch shank diameter is a common size for ER collet and end mill holder tooling systems.
Designed as a standard single-end corner radius end mill with a 5/16 inch shank, compatible with ER collet chucks, Weldon-style end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders sized for 5/16 inch shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following machine tool safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before installing or removing tooling. Verify collet or holder bore matches the 5/16 inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated to the correct gage length before tightening. Do not exceed the holder or collet manufacturer's recommended clamping torque.
