The ACCUPRO 12182509 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining environments. It features a 5/16-inch diameter with a 0.02-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the cutting edge, extending tool life on hardened and abrasive materials. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration at a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating adds thermal and wear resistance, making this tool suitable for dry or minimal-lubrication cutting. This end mill is installed and used by CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision components.
This end mill is well suited for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations in ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast iron, and hardened alloys where a radiused corner is required for part geometry or to improve fatigue resistance. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, adding versatility in multi-axis and 3-axis CNC milling setups. With a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2-1/2-inch overall length, it is appropriate for moderate-depth peripheral and slot milling on vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills.
Designed as a direct-fit cutting tool for standard 5/16-inch collet or end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers and manual knee mills. No specific OEM model compatibility was stated in the product data.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC tooling setup procedures. Always power down and lock out the spindle before seating or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before clamping to maintain runout tolerances within acceptable limits. Verify spindle speed, feed rate, and depth of cut against the material being machined before initiating a cut cycle.
