The ACCUPRO 12182505 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, machining centers, and general-purpose CNC work. It measures 0.3125 inches (5/16 inch) in diameter with a 3/4 inch length of cut and a 2-1/2 inch overall length. The 4-flute configuration and 40-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in ferrous and hardened material applications. Micrograin carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention for demanding cutting conditions. This tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into workpiece material.
This end mill is suited for high-speed machining of steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys in both production and job-shop environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry are standard for conventional CNC milling setups. Regular length classification makes it appropriate for general-purpose side milling, slotting, and profiling passes where extended reach is not required. Machinists and CNC operators working in precision manufacturing, toolroom work, and aerospace-adjacent applications will find this tool fits standard 5/16 inch ER or straight-shank collet toolholders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch straight shank with standard collet or endmill holder tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Seat the shank to the recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, and verify runout with a dial indicator when tight tolerances are required.
