The ACCUPRO 12182500 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It carries a 5/16-inch diameter with a 0.02-inch corner radius, producing a controlled edge break that reduces stress concentrations at the base of pockets and slots. The 4-flute geometry with a 40-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A TiCN coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in high-speed and interrupted-cut applications. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this end mill in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where corner geometry and dimensional accuracy are critical.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling in materials where a radiused corner is required by design or to prevent corner chipping. The centercutting configuration allows plunge entry, adding flexibility in toolpath programming. The 3/4-inch length of cut accommodates moderate-depth passes, while the 2-1/2-inch overall length provides adequate reach for most standard setups without sacrificing rigidity. It is appropriate for production and toolroom environments handling steel alloys, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where TiCN performance is a fit.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation in standard 5/16-inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of chips or burrs before seating the shank. Verify collet or set-screw holder torque specifications per the toolholder manufacturer's documentation. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after installation and before cutting to stay within tolerance requirements for the workpiece.
