The ACCUPRO 12182494 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 5/16 inch diameter with a 0.06 inch corner radius and a 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration at a 40-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention at higher feed rates. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 3/4 inch length of cut, this is a single-end, centercutting tool suited for slotting, profiling, and contour milling where a radius corner is required to reduce stress concentration at part shoulders.
This end mill is used in CNC machining centers and manual mills for finish profiling, pocket milling, and shoulder work where a defined corner radius is specified. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for aluminum, brass, and other non-ferrous materials, as well as general-purpose steel applications where a coated tool is not required. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in job shops and production environments are the primary users.
Designed as a standard single-end corner radius end mill with a 5/16 inch shank diameter, compatible with 5/16 inch collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque to the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling.
