The ACCUPRO 12182476 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The cutter measures 17/64 inch (0.2656 inches) in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 5/16-inch shank. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and thermal resistance in demanding cutting environments. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces across a wide range of materials. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration suitable for conventional CNC operations.
This end mill is intended for use in production machining shops, tool rooms, and job shops where tight tolerances and surface finish quality are priorities. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot milling. Its regular-length classification makes it well suited for general-purpose profiling, pocketing, and contouring operations. Machinists and CNC programmers working with steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials will find the TiCN coating and micrograin carbide substrate appropriate for moderate-to-high cutting speeds.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 5/16-inch shank square end mills used in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and tool room mills requiring a 17/64-inch diameter cutter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a collet or end mill holder rated for the 5/16-inch shank diameter, verifying runout before beginning a cut. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify feed and speed parameters against the workpiece material and machine capability before engaging the cut.
