The ACCUPRO 12182408 is a square-end, single-end carbide end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with an AlTiN (Aluminum Titanium Nitride) finish, it delivers strong wear resistance and heat tolerance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. At 0.1719 inches in diameter with a 3/16-inch shank, this tool is suited for fine-detail slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. Machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators are the primary users of this style of end mill.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and manual milling machines where small-diameter precision tooling is required. Its centercutting design allows direct plunge entry as well as conventional ramping and helical interpolation routines. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on the vast majority of vertical milling setups. It is well suited for applications in aerospace, mold-making, die work, and general precision part machining where tight tolerances and fine finishes are critical.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-stocking end mill for CNC machining centers and manual mills requiring a 3/16-inch shank collet or end mill holder.
End mills must be installed and removed by qualified machinists following proper toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder matched to the 3/16-inch shank diameter and torque the retention system per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges and AlTiN coating for chips or wear before each use.
