The ACCUPRO 12182399 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. The cutter measures 9/64 inch (0.1406 inches) in diameter with a 1/2 inch length of cut and a 3/16 inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2 inches. The tool features four spiral flutes with a 40-degree helix angle and an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating, which improves heat resistance and tool life during high-speed cutting. Micrograin carbide construction provides edge retention on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. This is a centercutting, right-hand cut, right-hand flute configuration suited for conventional and climb milling operations performed by machinists and CNC operators.
This end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machines, machining centers, and CNC mills for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, making it well-suited for work in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials where heat and chip load management are critical. The regular-length body fits standard tool holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank. It is appropriate for both production shop and toolroom environments where tight tolerances are required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 3/16 inch collets or end mill holders.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and power locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool when edge condition degrades to avoid workpiece damage or tool breakage.
