The ACCUPRO 12182375 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metal-cutting applications. Built from micrograin carbide stock, it features a 0.118-inch cutting diameter and a 0.4724-inch length of cut. The four-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. An AlTiN coating increases heat resistance, extending tool life during high-speed dry or semi-dry cutting. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral and slot milling operations. Machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for machining ferrous and hardened materials where heat buildup at the cutting edge is a primary concern. The 3.00-millimeter shank diameter matches the 3.00-millimeter mill diameter, making it compatible with standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders sized for that range. The regular-length body and 38.00-millimeter overall length keep the tool rigid in shallow-to-moderate-depth slots, pockets, and profile cuts. Applications include slot milling, shoulder milling, and light ramping on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual mills using collet chucks or shrink-fit holders with a 3.00-millimeter bore, within the 0.300-to-0.500-inch length-of-cut range.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians following standard tooling change-out procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an appropriate safe state before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut or set screw per the holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the first cut to confirm proper seating.
