The ACCUPRO 12182314 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, tool-and-die, and general machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers hard, wear-resistant cutting performance across ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 0.5 inch cutting diameter pairs with a 1.5 inch length of cut and a 6 inch overall length, classifying it as an extra-long reach tool. Its 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finish. Three spiral flutes with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction make this a standard-orientation tool for conventional CNC milling setups. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling in addition to peripheral and slot cuts.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where extended reach is required to access deep cavities, tall workpiece features, or recessed surfaces. The extra-long 6 inch OAL makes it practical for mold-making, deep-pocket profiling, and fixture machining. The 0.5 inch shank diameter seats directly into standard ER, Weldon, or similar toolholders sized for 1/2 inch shanks. It is sold individually and is appropriate for job shops, production machining, and maintenance repair operations that require a reliable, coated carbide end mill in a long-reach configuration.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/2 inch shank toolholders including ER collet chucks, Weldon-style holders, and hydraulic chucks used on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Seat the shank to the minimum recommended engagement depth for the toolholder type in use — insufficient engagement increases runout and risk of tool pull-out under load. Verify runout at the tip with a dial indicator before cutting. Extra-long end mills are more susceptible to deflection; reduce axial and radial depth of cut accordingly when operating at or near full reach.
