The ACCUPRO 12182302 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, tool-and-die, and general machining environments. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-reach applications where standard-length end mills fall short. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention needed for demanding materials. A TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating reduces friction and improves wear resistance. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action across a range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a 1/4 inch shank is required. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches makes it appropriate for slotting, profiling, and contouring in deep cavities or tall workpieces. It is centercutting, so it can be plunged directly into the material. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration is standard for conventional and climb milling on most vertical machining setups. Machinists and tool-and-die makers working in production or prototype environments will find this a reliable tool for tight-tolerance work.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills with a 1/4 inch collet or end mill holder. The 1/4 inch shank diameter is compatible with standard ER16, ER20, and similarly sized collet systems commonly used in light to mid-size machining applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the correct insertion depth in the collet or holder per the tool holder manufacturer's specifications, and torque the collet nut using the appropriate spanner wrench. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly given the extended reach of this tool.
