The ACCUPRO 12182264 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. It features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 3-inch length of cut, and a 6-inch overall length, making it well suited for deep-reach applications where standard-length tools fall short. The three-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. An AlTiN coating adds heat resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in demanding materials. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge cuts as well as conventional peripheral milling. It is intended for use by machinist trades in production and job-shop CNC milling applications.
This end mill is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous and hard materials where a high-performance carbide tool with a protective coating is required. The extra-long length type and extended 3-inch length of cut make it a practical choice for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling operations on vertical or horizontal machining centers. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle setups. The micrograin carbide substrate supports fine edge retention over extended run times.
Designed as a direct-fit tooling solution for 3/4-inch ER collets, milling chucks, or shrink-fit holders on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers. Shank diameter tolerance is -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches for secure, low-runout holding.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or spindle lock is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill. Clean the shank and holder bore thoroughly before assembly to prevent runout caused by debris. Confirm tool stick-out and reach requirements before beginning a cut, as excessive overhang beyond the stated length of cut can increase deflection and reduce tool life.
