The ACCUPRO 12182248 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composite, and hard material applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) finish, this tool delivers extended wear resistance and thermal stability under demanding cutting conditions. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, placing it in the extra-long category for reaching deeper pockets and slots. The 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators in job shops and production environments.
This end mill is suited for milling slots, pockets, profiles, and contours in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a longer reach is required. The 3 spiral flutes provide a balance between chip clearance and wall support, making it appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The TiCN coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, extending tool life in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The 3/8 inch shank diameter matches standard collets and end mill holders common in vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for any milling machine or machining center equipped with a 3/8 inch collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit holder accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Secure the shank to the minimum recommended insertion depth in the holder to maintain concentricity and reduce runout. Consult applicable speeds and feeds data for TiCN-coated carbide tooling based on workpiece material before beginning a cut.
