The ACCUPRO 12182229 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication, tool and die, and general machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for aggressive cuts in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 3/4-inch cutting diameter pairs with a 2.25-inch length of cut and a 40-degree helix angle, producing efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern. Machinists and tool and die makers are the primary installers of this tool.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual knee mills accepting a 3/4-inch shank. The long-length designation with a 5-inch overall length allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length tools cannot reach. The three-flute, spiral-flute geometry provides a balance between chip clearance and rigidity, making it a practical choice for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling. Its centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole, adding flexibility in multi-operation setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 3/4-inch tool holding system such as ER collet chucks, end mill holders, or shrink-fit holders accepting a 3/4-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, energy-isolated state per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Verify shank runout and holder cleanliness before seating the tool to prevent premature edge wear. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material being machined, as the long-length geometry increases deflection risk compared to stub or standard-length tools. Confirm spindle direction is right-hand before engaging the cut.
