The ACCUPRO 12182203 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) finish, it delivers extended wear resistance and improved tool life compared to uncoated or TiN-coated alternatives. The 3-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 1 inch in diameter with a 2.25-inch length of cut and 5-inch overall length, this is a long-length configuration suited for reaching into deeper pockets and cavities. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC and manual milling setups.
This end mill is used in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The centercutting design allows direct plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole. The long overall length and full 1-inch shank diameter make it appropriate for deep-pocket work where standard-length tooling cannot reach. It is installed in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and horizontal mills using standard 1-inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit toolholding systems.
Designed as a direct-fit tooling solution for 1-inch bore end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit systems on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills requiring a long-length, 3-flute, 1-inch diameter square end mill.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the control placed in an E-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Ensure the shank is seated to the full recommended gauge length in the holder and that runout is verified with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specifications for retention knobs and collet nuts; do not use unapproved adapters that reduce shank engagement length.
